Chinese scientists say that the artificial sun has achieved a temperature of more than 120 million degrees Celsius is a great success. This time, the scientists broke the previous record to maintain a 100 million degrees Celsius plasma temperature for 100 seconds.

According to Li Miao, director of the physics department at the Southern University of Science and Technology in Shenzhen, China, the goal now is to operate the reactor at a constant temperature for a year. Chinese scientists have been working since 2006 to develop smaller versions of nuclear fusion reactors.

The temperature of China’s reactor has reached 120 million degrees Celsius. The actual sun’s maximum temperature is 15 million degrees Celsius. That is why China’s reactor is said to be more powerful than the real sun.
